Summary:
The Specialist, Internal Communications will be a member of BJ's Wholesale Club's Corporate Communications team, supporting day-to-day internal communications functions that primarily focus on the company's human resources goals and objectives.
Reporting to the HR Communications Manager, the Specialist will drive key business priorities that inform, educate and celebrate a diverse workforce of more than 34,000
team members by helping support communications initiatives for departments including field HR, talent acquisition, inclusion and diversity, learning and development, benefits and compensation, as well as collaborating with the Chief Human Resources Officer and other HR leadership.
Additional responsibilities will include supporting the development and execution of communications strategies, ensuring cohesive messaging and timely execution of deliverables, drafting internal communications content, monthly and quarterly analytics reporting and daily social listening and monitoring.
The ideal candidate will be a strong writer, creative storyteller and innovative strategist.
In this highly collaborative role and fast-paced environment, this person must be organized and flexible, attentive to detail with great time management skills and work well cross-functionally with a variety of stakeholders from other internal teams.
Responsibilities:
Plan, create and write business communications on a variety of topics that span company announcements, meeting presentations, multimedia, video scripts, key messages and talking points.
Assist with the content creation process, content calendar maintenance (internal and external), social listening and analytics and reporting for LinkedIn and other third-party employer review sites.
Draft, prepare and publish content for the corporate intranet, digital newsletters and signage, and executive and company presentations and speeches.
Assist with talent acquisition campaigns to drive awareness, and coordinate and support team member acquisition efforts and celebrations for new club openings.
Support with deck development for company-wide town halls, divisional all-hands meetings, investor presentations, board of directors meetings and more.
Coordinate and execute logistics for company-wide meetings, all-hands meetings and department broadcasts (whether virtual webinars or in-person), along with other large-scale, strategic meetings that may occur.
Coordinate video shoot logistics, support production, post-production editing and manage relationship with producer.
Ensure consistent messaging throughout various internal communications and materials.
Serve as a subject matter expert for best practices in grammar, messaging, tone and style, as well as content creation, communications strategies and distribution.
Identify internal communication gaps and opportunities, report out on findings and make recommendations for improvements.
Travel to team member celebrations and new club opening events, as needed (25% travel anticipated).
Interact with leadership; ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality and professionalism.
Preferred
Qualifications:
Minimum three years of relevant experience in communications, public relations or a related field.
Bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, journalism or a related field.
Excellent written, visual and verbal communications skills, including sharing ideas and information across diverse audiences and creating compelling written and visual content.
Ability to meet deadlines, manage competing priorities and maintain confidentiality.
Self-starter with the ability to work independently and take initiative without extensive direction.
Strong time management, planning and organization skills, including the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
Experience in digital content creation, including video, PowerPoint presentations, social posts, digital newsletters and more.
Displays business acumen and integrated thinking.
Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with other communications professionals and internal cross-functional partners to achieve a common goal.
Experience using social media platforms, primarily LinkedIn.
Excellent project management skills to align diverse teams and accomplish the desired outcome.
Advanced proficiency in Office 365 with strong experience creating visually dynamic PowerPoint presentations, Word documents and Excel spreadsheets.
Experience with email management systems, such as Staffbase or Salesforce Marketing Cloud, is a plus.
Experience with image editing software, including Photoshop or Canva, is a plus.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
