Paralegal Clerk

Under the Paralegal's direct supervision, provides legal administrative support to corporate Legal Department of publicly traded, commercial stage, global diagnostics company.
Data entry responsibilities for contract and document management system and ongoing maintenance of the database
Assist with the administration of the company's option program with an emphasis on preparing option agreements and/or certificates and mailing and tracking same
Organize and maintain legal department files
Perform routine administrative and clerical duties, mailings, photocopying/scanning, and proofreading
Perform additional paralegal and administrative duties as required for the Legal Department
Regular attendance and timeliness is essential
Associates Degree, Paralegal Certificate, or equivalent experience as Paralegal
3+ years experience Corporate Paralegal in an in-house legal department, preferably in a public company
Must be proficient in MS Office
Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
Capable of learning to use and administer specialized database management programs
Superior organization and recordkeeping skills
Uncompromised attention to detail and ability to work independently
Willing to engage with internal and external contacts to follow through on assignments and projects in a professional and respectful manner
Ability to organize and prioritize numerous tasks and complete under time constraints
Must possess good judgment and be both practical and creative in solving problems

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
