Structural Engineer - Afghanistan (4 Month Contract)

Tetra Tech is seeking currently accepting expressions of interest from qualified candidates for a Structural Engineer position on a proposed program in Afghanistan. The anticipated duration of this project is four (4) months. The Structural Engineer will assist in reviewing designs for existing and new school structures and providing guidance, recommendations, and written plans/reports for local ministry.
Responsibilities
Review the structural design for up to 20 exiting schools and suggest amendments to designs, taking disaster risk measures into consideration;
Prepare construction drawings for each structure;
Evaluate structural design of pre-fabricated buildings and suggest suitable improvements, taking local contextual conditions into consideration;
Collaborate with architect on the structural designs and low-cost design options.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering;
Minimum twenty (20) plus years of experience in architecture and engineering;
Must be willing to relocate to Afghanistan for four (4) months.
