BI Developer II

JOB SUMMARY:
The Business Intelligence Developer will help create reporting and analysis tools using SSRS, T-SQL, Power BI and other Business Intelligence applications to support our reporting platform. This position will be supporting various stages of the end-to-end data integration and report development lifecycle, with specific responsibilities related to the requirements and architecture of our reference system. The ideal candidate will have at least 4 years of SSRS development experience and 6 years T-SQL stored proc development or query development experience. ETL experience is another key component of this position, and 2-4 years is preferred. The last facet of this candidate's experience is SSAS multi-dimensional and/or tabular cube development experience.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Implement T-SQL code (procedures and views) and SSRS reports in line with established plans and architectural standards for the department

  • Implement, enhance, triage existing stored procedures and SSIS packages employed in the overnight or real-time integration with source systems.

  • Implement, enhance SSAS multi-dimensional and tabular cubes.

  • Act as a liaison with architects, business analysts, developers and testing teams for content input and document reviews to ensure that report functionality is well documented.

  • Interpret requirements provided by business analysts and occasionally directly from end users

  • Pro-actively understand changes to project scope and make relevant changes to report design and stored procedures.

  • Understand relational databases and data analysis, data models, data extracts, and reporting in context.

  • Assist Quality Assurance team with validating reports.

  • Escalating issues in a timely manner and suggesting improvements.

  • Providing peer review support to work produced by others, confirming use of relevant coding standards; approving work produced by others.

  • Demonstrate understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle.

Education: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
Major in Computer Science or Management Information Systems a plus.
Experience: 4+ years of experience in SSRS development.
6+ years of experience with Microsoft SQL Server and T-SQL code development.
2+ years of experience with SSAS multi-dimensional or tabular cubes.
Solid understanding of database development best practices.
Strong organizational skills.
Good problem solving mindset; should be motivated and self-directed
Must have ability to coordinate multiple tasks, set priorities, and meet deadlines.
Must have good attention to detail.
Experience with SQL Server 2016 Enterprise is a plus.
C# experience is a plus.
Web development experience is a plus.
Predictive analytics experience is a plus.

Reasoning Ability: A major part of the job is to determine what data trends mean. Being able to analyze the data is crucial. The business intelligence analyst guides and directs all other analysts, report writers and other data consumers in every functional department.
Communication Skills: Polished communication skills (written, oral, detail-to-high level executive presentation generation and delivery), and strong interpersonal skills able to effectively interface at all levels from cross-functional individual contributors to senior executives.
Mathematical Skills: Must have good data analytical and interpretation skills. Ability to formulate and define systems scope and objectives through research and due diligence.
Time Management: Business intelligence analysts work on large projects and many data streams and many deadlines. Being able to juggle many projects at once is a common trait for this work.
Other: Ability to learn, adapt and apply creativity.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
