What you ll do
The Infrastructure and Operations (I&O) organization embodies the hub of lifecycle engineering at TJX, delivering, maintaining, and optimizing our technology portfolio at cloud scale. We are a service provider team and our goal is to offer outstanding experiences to thousands of TJX associates, business partners, and application delivery teams across the portfolio.
The Lead Cloud Engineer (SQL DBA) is a key technical engineering role that partners with Infrastructure & Operation s teams to develop groundbreaking, well-defined solutions for SQL Databases, both within the TJX Datacenter and the TJX Azure cloud environment. This role will focus on the design, development and administration of the Global SQL Server environment both on premise and in Microsoft Azure.
- Define technical scope and objectives for cloud services management, non-functional requirements, disaster recovery and security;
- Collaborate with the Product team architects and infrastructure teams to understand requirements and help design Database solutions;
- Design and deliver robust Database administration solution, which cover optimal infrastructure resource management, Security, High availability, clustering, backup, recovery, performance monitoring, tuning, DR;
- Prepare Database engineering roadmaps and design documents. Mentor DBA operations team and act as resident SQL DBA lead.
- Lead all aspects of the migration of SQL Server databases to Cloud;
What you ll need
We seek creative, customer-focused individuals with technical expertise and a mindset for continuous improvement. We rethink how software and infrastructure are delivered in cloud environment, and work closely with other teams to improve key services.
- 8 10 years experience with Microsoft SQL Server DBA design, building enterprise scale database services, and 1-3 years of Azure or public cloud experience;
- Design and implement automation of SQL databases provisioning in TJX Datacenter using devops tools (Ansible, Github, Jenkins) or Azure using (Azure DevOps, Terraform)
- Comfortable with with PaaS databases, logic apps, application gateways, IaaS compute, network, storage, backup, disaster recovery;
- Knowledge of Sarbanes-Oxley and PCI compliance requirements.
